1. About this policy
LiveNote is a notepad service that hosts user-generated notes and uploaded files at livenote.in. We do not review content before it is published. We process valid copyright notices under the safe harbor of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we have designated the agent below to receive them.
2. Designated agent
Copyright notices and counter-notices go to our designated agent:
The operator of LiveNote

3. Filing a takedown notice
If you believe material on livenote.in infringes your copyright, send our designated agent a notice that includes all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered by one notice).
- The URL of the infringing material on livenote.in, specific enough for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Send it by email to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA takedown notice”. A postal address for paper notices is available on request via the email above. General questions can go to the contact page, but formal notices should reach the designated agent.
4. What we do with a notice
Valid notices are processed promptly: we remove or disable access to the reported material, typically within a few business days of receiving a notice that contains the elements above. We may contact you if the notice is missing required information. When material is removed, we notify the account holder who posted it (when one exists) and forward them your notice, so they can file a counter-notice if they believe the removal was a mistake.
5. Counter-notification
If your material was removed and you believe it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may send the designated agent a counter-notice that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and the location (URL) where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and telephone number, plus a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district of your address (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district in which the service provider may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material in not less than 10 nor more than 14 business days, unless the original complainant first notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringer.

6. Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts, and remove the notes, of users who are repeat infringers of others’ copyrights, in line with our obligation under 17 U.S.C. § 512(i). We keep records of takedown notices we receive and how they were resolved.
7. Abuse of this process
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing (or that it was removed by mistake) may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Do not use this process to take down material you simply dislike; these provisions are for copyright claims.
8. Who operates LiveNote
The operator of LiveNote operates LiveNote. See the terms of service and privacy policy for the rules that apply to accounts and content.
